Sheherezade & Chuhei Iwasaki

On Thursday, September 23, 2021, the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra opened the Platina subscription line with a magnificent concert by Sheherazade & Chuhei Iwasaki. Dvořák's Carnival, Rimský-Korsakov's Scheherazade and, above all, the unique performance of Jan Kubelík's Symphony in A minor, which had its modern premiere in Pilsen, thrilled with the last-filled Grand Hall of the Citizens' Discussion. It was last performed in 1939 with the Czech Philharmonic conducted by Rafael Kubelík. Rare guests in the auditorium were also the descendants of Jan Kubelík - his grandson Radvan Kubelík and his wife Zuzana and the current Japanese ambassador to the Czech Republic Hideo Suzuki and his wife. The concert was created in collaboration with the Jan Kubelík Society and Czech Radio made an audio recording from it.
