Detail information

Entertainment and educational programme of the Pilsen Philharmonic is focused on common human qualities of incomparable musical geniuses of all musical historical periods. It asks questions such as: were they weirdos or normal people? Bon vivants or unbearable sticklers? Beloved dads or the terror of the family? What were some of the most prominent of the world’s greatest composers in everyday life like? How did they interact with their immediate neighbours? How with fellow musicians? How with other great artists? What did they avoid and what were they „keen on”?

The Pilsen Philharmonic’s programme, which discusses legendary composers with respect, but also with humour and kind understanding of their lapses and foibles, reminds us that composers are not just faces in faded photographs or paintings in music classrooms, but that they were living human beings experiencing like us, their joys and sorrows, their successes and failures.
