The Pilsen Philharmonic, conducted by Chuhei Iwasaki, invites you to a special concert celebrating the 730th anniversary of the founding of the city of Pilsen. The program will honor the rich musical tradition and cultural heritage with works by prominent Czech and international composers. The evening opens with Bagatelles by Zdeněk Lukáš, followed by Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, blending distinctive American harmony with spiritual themes. From Czech music, we will hear Bohuslav Martinů’s Czech Madrigals, capturing the intimate and lyrical beauty of Czech music. The highlight of the evening will be Antonín Dvořák’s monumental Te Deum laudamus, a glorious hymn of praise, featuring soloists, the Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno, and the Pilsen Philharmonic. The concert will be hosted by Jiří Vejvoda.
This exceptional concert is held under the patronage of the Mayor of Pilsen, Mgr. Roman Zarzycký.
