Tribute to cardinal Josef Beran
Katedrála sv. Bartoloměje
Bethlehem Chapel, Prague
Premiere
This year, it has been 130 years since the
legendary Antonín Dvořák´s departure across the
ocean and this journey, which is one of the most
famous travels in the history of music, brought
many compositions, whose fame can rightly be
called world fame. For this occasion, the Pilsen
Philharmonic prepared a new entertaining
educative musical-dramatical programme about
interesting facts from Dvořák´s travels. Hardly
anybody knows, for example, that Dvořák
visited England nine times, besides the USA
stayed in Germany, Belgium, Austria, Russia or
Hungary. The listeners will learn how he felt on
his journeys to greater fame of Czech music,
what he experienced, what he conducted. The
programme will be presented at the Dvořák
Prague International Music Festival.
