The evening opens with The Sorcerer's Apprentice by Paul Dukas, a famous symphonic scherzo that takes listeners into a world of magic and unexpected twists. Next, we hear Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 14 by Nikolai Kapustin, a work blending jazzy rhythms with classical form, featuring the talented pianist Daniel Wiesner. The evening concludes with Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, Op. 14, a powerful musical portrayal of the artist’s life, filled with passion, illusions, and dramatic contrasts.
