Hollywood tunes sounded through the crowded Republic Square

Six thousand people filled the Republic Square in Pilsen to watch the performance of the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the Street Music Festival. At the concert entitled Hollywood with the Pilsen Philharmonic, on August 22, 2021, hits from the movies STAR WARS, HARRY POTTER, THE LORD OF THE RINGS, FROZEN or LES MISERABLES were heard. The soloist of the concert was Andrea Holá and the Pilsen Philharmonic was conducted by its new chief conductor Chuhei Iwasaki. The concert itself was preceded by an introductory speech by the director of the Pilsen Philharmonic Lenka Kavalová, the mayor of Pilsen Martin Baxa, the mayor of ÚMO 3 David Procházka and also thanks to Irena Buriancová, a longtime member of the orchestra, for whom it was the last concert in the Pilsen Philharmonic. A surprise in the end was the flashmob, which was prepared for this occasion by the Pilsen dance community of all dance groups.
