The Sound of James Bond

Vienna, AT

Detail information

he evening will feature title songs and selected soundtrack highlights from films such as From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever, Live and Let Die, GoldenEye, Casino Royale, Skyfall, No Time to Die, and more.

Actors may change, but for more than six decades the number 007 has stood for British cool, cult status, and suspense. The recipe for James Bond’s success is always perfectly mixed: strong women, fast cars, spectacular stunts, and breathtaking shootouts. In 25 films, the legendary MI6 agent has saved humanity from the most dangerous villains in the world’s most exotic locations—always with style, charm, and a martini “shaken, not stirred.”

The music that has accompanied Bond from the very beginning is as unmistakable as the character himself—above all the legendary theme, a classic among film opening motifs, providing the perfect sonic backdrop for both casino scenes and pulse-pounding action sequences. And just like the licence to kill, every new 007 story comes with a new title song. These immortal soundtracks were created by giants of film music such as John Barry, David Arnold, and Hans Zimmer. The greatest stars in music history—Shirley Bassey, Louis Armstrong, Nancy Sinatra, Tina Turner, Tom Jones, and Adele—have forever shaped the canon of iconic Bond songs.

Following the success of recent years, the music of 007 returns to the concert hall once again. It will be performed by a large symphony orchestra, a backing band, and two outstanding vocalists: South African singer Tertia Botha with her powerful energy, and American singer Dennis LeGree, known from The Voice of Germany, whose strong soul and gospel-infused voice creates unforgettable moments. Together, they will bring the Bond songs to life in all their brilliance.

The evening will be hosted by Dietmar Wunder, the long-time German voice of Daniel Craig. With charm, humour, and fascinating anecdotes from the world of 007, he will guide the audience through the programme, linking the music with stories that will bring a smile not only to Bond fans.
