Renowned Slovak pianist Pavol Praženica will perform a solo recital that bridges French impressionism, Czech modernism, and Romantic virtuosity. The evening’s program features technically and expressively demanding works by three extraordinary composers, each offering a unique musical world and interpretive depth.
The concert opens with Miroirs by Maurice Ravel – a cycle of five vivid and poetic pieces filled with tonal color and pianistic brilliance. It is followed by Bohuslav Martinů’s dramatic and introspective Piano Sonata, H. 350, one of the composer’s late and most intense works. The evening culminates in Franz Liszt’s monumental Sonata in B minor, S. 178 – a groundbreaking piece that merges structure with emotional narrative and stands as a cornerstone of 19th-century piano literature.
An evening with Pavol Praženica promises not only masterful technique but a profound artistic journey full of passion, reflection, and musical insight.
