Kosmas, Dean Vitus, Abbess Kunhuta, Arnošt of Pardubice... Who would not like to look into the faces of these exceptional personalities of the Czech Middle Ages? The ensemble Schola Gregoriana Pragensis would like to offer to the audience such an encounter: a concert entitled “Faces and Sources”. These individuals mentioned above contributed significantly to the further flourishing of liturgical singing in the centre of the Czech kingdom - in the Cathedral of St. Vitus in Prague. The manuscripts, which Dean Vitus, Arnošt of Pardubice, and others acquired at their own expense, form the basis of this concert. Many of them have survived to this day, thanks to a happy coincidence of fate. So we will also be imaginatively leafing through them during the performance. The concert is accompanied by reading contemporary texts illustrating the portraits of the personalities to whom the concert is dedicated.
