The Pilsen Philharmonic, conducted by Chuhei Iwasaki, presents a captivating musical journey through the world of birds, featuring a blend of contemporary and classical works full of color and emotion. The evening opens with Pocket Guide to the Flight of Birds by Czech composer Slavomír Hořínka, a piece rich in sonic imagery and dynamic contrasts that transports listeners into the airborne world of birds. This is followed by one of the masterpieces of the violin repertoire, Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47 by Jean Sibelius, where the brilliant violinist Mayumi Kanagawa will showcase both virtuosic skill and deep emotional expression. The evening concludes with Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, where the orchestra will bring to life the magical power and mystery of this legendary tale.
